Five NYC Radio Stations Commit To Keeping Glenn Beck Off The Air

In case you didn’t know, Glenn Beck is currently off the air in New York City’s radio market. Back in January, WOR announced that they were dropping Glenn Beck from their lineup due to his low ratings:
WOR (710 AM), one of the city’s two biggest talk radio stations, said this morning it is dropping Beck’s syndicated show as of Jan. 17 and replacing him with a familiar New York name: Mike Gallagher.
“The reason is ratings,” said WOR program director Scott Lakefield. “Somewhat to our surprise, the show wasn’t getting what we wanted.”

23 Academic Groups Condemn Glenn Beck’s Attacks On Piven

Media Matters summarizes the statement: On February 15, 23 academic groups issued a joint statement condemning Glenn Beck for his attacks on Professor Frances Fox Piven. The statement expressed “collective outrage at the recent, repeated attacks” on Piven following Beck’s “rhetoric,” noting that his verbal attacks on her “have incited threats of violence.”

Beginning February 9, 2010, Glenn Beck’s UK broadcast started running without any commercials. But, on February 7, 2011, a small amount of ads returned to Glenn Beck’s UK broadcast. Drats! Just before we were about to make our 1 year ad-free announcement too.

On February 9, 2011, Lloyds TSB ads rand during Glenn Beck’s UK broadcast. Lloyd’s is one of big four banks in the UK.
