    Katie Burnett of Brunswick, Ga., shot a six-under-par 66 to take a five-shot lead in the first round of the Michigan PGA Women's Open on Monday at Crystal Mountain Resort in Thompsonville. Burnett had one eagle, five birdies and one bogey on the Mountain Ridge course and tied the course record for women, set in this event by Elaine Crosby in 2004 and matched by Lisa Fernandes in 2007.
