The Daily reported that the Rangers offered Trouba $200,000 to play in Kitchener. Trouba's family released a statement denying the offer and affirming that Trouba will play at U-M as a freshman this fall.

Hockey The Grand Rapids Griffins on Monday signed defenseman Nathan Paetsch and left wing Triston Grant to one-year contracts. Paetsch, 29, has four seasons of NHL experience with the Buffalo Sabres and Columbus Blue Jackets in 2005-10. He was fourth among NHL rookie defensemen with 24 points for the Sabres in 2006-07. Paetsch also played 249 games in the AHL.
Bross said he anticipates knowing this afternoon where the Phoenix Coyotes stand in regard to the issues surrounding ownership and their arena in Glendale, Ariz. If that isn't cleared up, Bross said "we'll start to accept offers tomorrow" for the longtime Coyote.
