Randi's on her way to Seattle for AM1090's annual town hall forum event, but we're glad to have Nicole Sandler filling in today. Nicole has some wise guests to address multiple issues, including the tragedy in Colorado.
Author/activist Van Jones, the co-founder of Color of Change and Rebuild The Dream, will explain how Americans might be able to change some of the root-cause factors that have lead to the all-too-common violent events like the one in Colorado.
Virginia Democratic candidate for the U.S. House, Wayne Powell on the biggest mass shooting event in the U.S. since Virginia Tech. Powell will discuss the fact the Congress still hasn't done anything about commonsense gun legislation - even in the wake of the Gabrielle Giffords shootings last year. He'll also cover how Congress can improve access to effective mental health coverage.
Finally, Mark Glaze, Director of the non-partisan Mayors Against Guns Coalition, who works closely with the coalition's co-chairs, Boston's Mayor Thomas M. Menino and New York City's Mayor Michael Bloomberg, will join Nicole to talk about the one thing all Americans need to be discussing at this point - common sense gun regulation.
Plus, your thoughts on the shooting and how Americans and our elected representatives should respond.
