I hope I see more of "that" John Stewart. You scored a lot of points last night, buddy. You could have done a fluff piece and polished up that turd, but NO! And all you were being was honest. Clearly there were glaring flaws in his whole philosophy of life. I think many Republicans share that "winning is more important than doing the right thing" mentality.
Sometimes doing the right thing means that you lose. Those moments can often be very defining of who one is. Republicans ALWAYS choose winning. That's why things are so messed up right now. They just let things go that they should have been fixing, but didn't want to attract too much attention to; lots of things.

I for one was not happy to see it, much as I love Jon Stewart. Tweetie, no matter what his motives, has been doing a lot lately to help recover some sense in our country. I hope Stewart goes on his show and they further that cause.

Matthews lost me long ago with his crap... I can't give him much credit for taking so long to see what dangerous idiots are in charge of the Republican party. I still associate him with being a big apologist stooge. I've been waiting a long time to see someone stick a metaphorical hot poker up his ass.
I must admit he's been better lately, but...

Well, I guess I am so desperate for any signs of sense that I can't even hold grudges anymore....

Good to see you don't hold grudges Agent 99. I strive for that too. Makes for happiness. Tweeties book at least explains how he could go from neocon to fair reporting. He sees change coming and it's all about winning....keeping a good job.I can't help but like him.

I heard him talking about his political views a couple months ago somewhere, and he was saying that he'd always been really liberal about some things and really conservative about others. It's been seeming to me as though he's been wanting to show more sense for the last year or so... just a feeling I've had... and lately he really has been way better. It's very clear that many in the MSM have been terrified into toeing the line for a long time. When Rather tried to rally, he was smacked down brutally. So, if you think about it, Tweetie is a lot braver than most of the talking heads, and, yes, MSNBC seems to be wanting to pick up liberal viewers, but still.... I think Jon was too harsh on him.

I'm sorry, but I just can't defend anybody who supports Rudy, (you know who.)
The title of this post is:
DAILY SHOW VIDEO: Jon Stewart Shreds Chris Matthews
Boy, did he ever!
Matthews claims to have served with honor alongside the most honest president in recent history, (Jimmy.) Why can't he use the truth as a weapon against the lies of the radicals who have stolen our republic?
Agent 99:
If using strategy against lies is a good method, why isn't it working after seven demoralizing and democracy mutilating years?

I don't know who supports Rudy.
I don't understand your question, Larry. I don't use strategy against lies; I use flying sledge hammers and/or state-of-the-art laser technology against them. Now, your basic tv personality... not so much.

I'm not talking about you 99. From what I could surmise Chris's book was about from watching Stewarts interview, that's what his book is about. Underhanded strategy is what holds up the Republican party these days. We can defeat it by telling the truth everywhere we go. If we can't, we are finished.
Matthews makes no secret of his support for Rudy.
Aside from that, I really don't know if Chris is on my side or not. Maybe he just says he likes Rudy, and maybe not. That is what drives me crazy.

Did you see his smarmy show Thurs. nite with wife Kathleen playing his role interviewing him?? He revealed he was once a cop, claimed he is a "romantic" --oh, BigMouth, were you a romantic whilst you trashed, ridiculed and dismissed "wooden" Al Gore for about a year in election season 2000? Were you a romantic as you lapdogged for GE/Jack Welch/GOP and GE's multi-billion$ defense business boosted by any and all GOP prez's to insure with your subtle daily attacks on Gore that your EMPLOYER GE would remain on their immoral gravy train with the Pentagon? Was it starry-eyed sentimentality that motivated your collusion with Welch on election night to report the FALSE apparent winner of the prez in Florida? Do you actually think we will EVER forget or forgive your obedient duplicity in this traitorous media lie? All of your abundant choirboy charm aside, Chris--NO WE WILL NOT FORGET! Janl, FL

Matthews can try and deny it all he wants, but the fact is he got his sorry ass handed to him by John Stewart. Matthews was humiliated on national TV, and god damn if it wasn't funny.
