Rush Limbaugh says he shares Elton John's views
And I have to say, while I've always loved Elton's music, the guy is looking creepier by the day. What kind of idiot plays at Rush Limbaugh's marriage? A very rich one who doesn't care about his own community, or himself apparently.

The blame game around ENDA has begun
Now the Senate Dems are blaming the Republicans. Which is only partly true. If you let a bully continue throwing sand in your face, with impunity, is the bully to blame, or are you? From Chris Johnson at the Washington Blade:
Assistant Majority Leader Richard Durbin (D-Ill.) said Democratic leadership wants to move forward with ENDA, but noted difficulties in moving any item on the legislative agenda forward. Then there's this:
“We have a tough time moving anything on the calendar because of Republican filibusters,” Durbin said.
Still, Durbin said a vote on the legislation in September after lawmakers return from August recess is “possible,” while adding that timeframe is a “pretty hectic period.” He noted that a vote would more likely come in the period following the November election.
Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor & Pensions Committee where ENDA is pending, on Tuesday expressed similar grievances about Republican obstructionism.
Asked what’s keeping the legislation from coming to a Senate vote, Harkin simply replied, “Republicans.”
Mara Keisling, executive director of the National Center for Transgender Equality, also blamed Republicans for the failure to advance ENDA in the Senate. She also cited what she called a “general dysfunction” in the chamber as a problem. That's not what I've been hearing. Read the rest of this post...
“It’s certainly not all about ENDA,” she said. “It’s certainly, certainly not about transgender inclusion in ENDA. They can’t get campaign finance reform through, they can’t get, sometimes, job bills through.”

Gay Pride in Jerusalem
From EuroNews:
“The gay community in Jerusalem is very respectful of religious people,” said participant Shmuel Satat. He's right. Then what is he doing there? God most certainly made me gay. Baruch, on the other hand, chose to be a hater. Read the rest of this post...
“It includes the religious people and part of its message is to expose its existence to Orthodox people. The Orthodox population does have gay people in it and it is very important they will be out of the closet, for them.”
There was no repeat of an incident five years ago when three participants were stabbed and wounded by an ultra-Orthodox Jew. But security was tight. And, brandishing banners with slogans like ‘Holyland not Homoland’, anti-gay protesters left their feelings in no doubt.
“People that are sick, people that are doing things that are against the Bible, against God, in the Holy City, is something that is desecrating the city,” said Orthodox protester Baruch Marzel.

Lady Gaga to violate Arizona boycott; Elton John violated it too
She shouldn't. Kind of hard to imagine any major star going to Arizona at this point. Then again, Elton John is being a bit of a dick as well. And bragging that he still plays in California is little solace.

Latest right wing gay Obama conspiracy
The latest right wing gay conspiracy?
Answer: Obama attends "The View" because he doesn't want to appear at a BSA Jamboree because it might alienate his gay base.
In other words, Obama doesn't really have to do anything of substance in order to be accused of being pro-Gay, so he really should stop kissing the right's asses in order to prove he isn't. It isn't like Obama has said he is for gay marriage, or actually signed a stop loss order to keep gay or lesbian troops from being discharged. He has done nothing on ENDA, other than give a speech or two. Obama simply appears on "The View" and suddenly he's Harvey Milk, according to the Right Wing Noise machine.

Chat participants at right-wing site FreeRepublic.com--where gay news is obsessively posted and discussed--also theorized that Obama was shunning the Boy Scouts because the organization does not allow gays to serve as troop leaders. "He doesn’t want to offend the gays out there who still despise the Boy Scouts. Playing politics trumps everything with these people," wrote one commentator.Teachable moment for Obama Administration: Stop pissing off your gay supporters by dragging your feet on our civil rights. Take deliberate strides forward for the LGBT community (no, you really haven't yet -really) because you will be accused of being a radical homosexual activist administration at every turn no matter what you do. You might as well make those, who would be your natural progressive allies, happy instead of constantly trying to prove you love the Tea Partiers. They'll never love you, we sincerely want to. Others promoted the idea that Obama is actually a Kenyan by birth and suggested that his missing the event was, in fact, a boon to the Scouts.
A posting at the blog RedState.com attacked Obama for choosing to appear on the talk show rather than going to the Jamboree, saying that "the White House informed the BOA that obamanation’s schedule conflicts with the king-elect’s last-minute plans to visit New Jersey and make traffic that much worse--while he samples subs (Italian sandwiches)--before he heads to NYC to tape ’The View...’ "
