Terry Bouricius has been appointed National Election Supervisor for the 2012 Pacifica election. Terry Bouricius served as the first National Election Supervisor for Pacifica's initial round of elections in 2003-4. Mr. Bouricius earned a degree in political science from Middlebury College. He was the first person in the nation elected to office as a Citizens Party candidate in 1981, when he was elected to the Burlington, Vermont City Council. He served ten years on the City Council, including a term as Council President. He was elected to the Vermont House of Representatives in 1990.. He stepped down after serving five terms in the state legislature, and went to work with FairVote: The Center for Voting and Democracy as an election reform policy analyst. He has served several terms on the board of directors of the Vermont League of Women Voters. In addition to running the first Pacifica elections, he has administered elections for several nonprofits, including co-ops, and the Dartmouth Alumni Association. I welcome Terry back to Pacifica!
