4.2.2 is a minor release with a couple of small feature improvements and fixes. There are a couple of small template changes, and in the download there is a folder called Documentation with a folder named Template upgrade Differences 4.2.1 to 4.2.2
Features:
Affiliate url is now included as an option. What it does is hide the affiliate URL, so when you see the link (even on mouseover), you don’t see the affiliate link, and there is a “pass through” url. To use affiliate links simply enable the AFFURL submit item for the link type you want to use them for. It will not show on the submit page as an option for submitters. This is an “admin only” feature.
To make it easier for google site validation for google webmaster tools you can enter the meta tag given to you by google for site validation via your admin panel under Settings >> Site
To make it easier for bing site validation on Bing Webmaster Tools you can enter the meta tag given to you by bing for site validation via your admin panel under Settings >> Site
A key feature added is the ability to have widgets show on homepage only
for the right and left side zones. This means you can still have your site partners and latest links widgets show on the home page load but not load this widget on inner site pages. This should address the concerns raised from the latest google changes.
Fixes:
We have reworked the validator for categories to stop the issue when adding or editing the seo url for categories.
Jquery fixe to ensure compatibility with the latest jquery release and to ensure all code possible is now run via jquery and not the older libraries that were in use previously. The main issue was with adding or deleting categories.
You can now assign the not empty validator to the address, city, state and zip submit items which basically means you can now make these fields required.
