TUMBLR TUESDAY: REGISTER TO VOTE EDITION
Does it feel like election day is still ages away? It’s not; in fact, early voting began for half of the country this week. And for half of the country, if you’re not yet registered in just two weeks, you’ll lose the chance to vote entirely. That’s what happened to 6 million Americans in 2008; this year, we’re participating in National Voter Registration Day to help make sure you’re not left out.
If you’re in the US, you should see the button above on your Dashboard; click it to register through our friends at Our Time.

No matter how you feel about politics, remember that your vote has the power to make a difference for at least one critical candidate or ballot measure on your ticket. If you don’t participate in the voting booth, you allow others to make important decisions for you.
Need some inspiration? Check out this gorgeous GIF campaign from MTV’s Power of 12, a new video from the cast of Workaholics, and a gallery of voting-inclined celebs at HyperVocal.
For more info, follow National Voter Registration Day on Tumblr, or track the tag #925NVRD. You can register in person at an NVRD meetup happening near you, or phone in any questions to the Election Protection Hotline at 1-866-OUR-VOTE.
And even if you’re already registered, please reblog this post to ensure none of your followers miss it!

HOLY SHIT. Richard Linklater recently wrapped Before Midnight, the sequel to Before Sunrise and Before Sunset.
These movies are beyond incredible. Before Sunset in particular is one of my favorite movies ever. And I weirdly watched it quite a few times for inspiration while writing material for my Buried Alive standup tour.
If you haven’t seen these movies, go do it. Can’t wait for the next one.

Finally caught up with Cho 5 weeks later. Been rocking this song quite a bit.

Lil Wayne feat. Big Sean - ‘My Homies Still’

I really like this a lot and was having trouble understanding why that was, but then I realized it’s because it sounds like Diplo went to town on my favorite jingle: the Baskin Robbins’ ‘Ice Cream and Cake and Cake’ song.

Love this Die Hard with a Vengeance shoutout. One of the weirdest things ever is when Die Hard with a Vengeance airs censored on TV the sign says “I HATE EVERYBODY” and the thugs go up to McClane and say “Oh fellas, looks like white boy here hates (insert dub) EVERYBODY (end dub).”

Rob Huebel’s Lost Roles (Splitsider Interview)

Human Giant bud Rob Huebel did a great interview with Splitsider going over some lost roles from his career. Its all worth a read. For example, did you know Huebel auditioned to be Don Draper? The highlight though is this amazing story from his audition to join John McClane in the Die Hard series.

Live Free or Die Hard (2007)

I went in for that one, and I was auditioning, my character was called “Pasty-Faced Hacker.” I think in the script, it was just, “Hacker,” but when they described my character, it was like “a nerdy, pasty-faced guy.” I was kind of pissed at my agent for sending me on that in the first place. I went in to audition for it, and it was just classic computer hacker guy who’s in a van somewhere outside of a building. It was a really tense conversation between me and Bruce Willis’s character John McClane. So, John McClane is like, “Can you hack it?” And I’m like typing on my keyboard, “Hold on just a second. Oh, there’s a firewall.” He’s like, “Can you get past the firewall?” “Give me just a second. A few more keystrokes, John. A couple more keystrokes.” And then, in the middle of my audition, the chair I was sitting on – it was like an old wooden chair – it just shattered and broke, and I fell down on the floor backwards. You know, my chair just exploded. And the casting director started laughing so hard, and everyone in the room was laughing. And I didn’t know what to do, so I just got up and I like kinda kept going. Kept hacking. Instead of like sitting down, I got up and I just kept hacking on my computer, and I improvised this line, “Damn it, they rigged my chair to blow. This whole building is gonna blow!” Something like that, and I didn’t get that part, I think because the chair fucked me over. But the cool thing was, they let me watch the footage of my audition. They never let you do that. The casting lady let me watch the audition footage, so you can see this part where I’m sitting there, hacking away, doing a great job, getting past all their firewalls, and then the chair explodes and I just fall down on the floor like a fat fuckin’ idiot. She was laughing so hard, there were just tears coming out of her face. It looked ridiculous.

Full interview here.

YNRichKids - “Hot Cheetos and Takis”

I’ve been yelling “SNACK! SNACK! SNACK! SNACK! CRUNCH!” all over the Parks and Rec to many confused looks.

YNRichKids - ‘Hot Cheetos and Takis’

I have listened to this 10x times in a row and think it’s great. The beat sounds dope (if there was a Lex Luger drop I’d believe that he did it) and the kids are actually good rappers. [Content removed due to unnecessary Sh’Boss boy hatin’ - Aziz]
