'GREEN NEWS EXTRA' (Stuff we didn't have time for in today's audio report)...
- Could GeoEngineering Spawn Rogue Planet Hackers? (Climate Crock of the Week):
What if climate change begins to slip out of control? What if some misguided group, or even wealthy individual decides climate is out of control, and sets out to do something about it? ... A new report details the emerging debate.

- Filabot Turns Scrap Plastic into Filament for 3D Printers (Treehugger) [emphasis added]:
[T]he Filabot, a desktop system that recycles your old plastic waste into filament for 3D printers, is being called a game changer. The system lets you turn scrap plastic into useful raw material right in your home...This also means that 3D printed projects gone wrong can also be fed into the Filabot to be made again, giving more room for trial and error without the fear of creating lots of plastic waste.

World on Track for Climate Disaster:
- COVER STORY: It's Global Warming, Stupid (Businessweek):
Yes, yes, it's unsophisticated to blame any given storm on climate change. Men and women in white lab coats tell us-and they're right-that many factors contribute to each severe weather episode. Climate deniers exploit scientific complexity to avoid any discussion at all.
...
If all that doesn't impress, forget the scientists ostensibly devoted to advancing knowledge and saving lives. Listen instead to corporate insurers committed to compiling statistics for profit.

I am sure this is true for many cities but Chicago is setting a record for consecutive days with less than an inch of snow. Chicago, next to a lake no less!
Monday (Jan. 14) becomes Chicago's 325th consecutive day without at least a 1-inch snow
Chicago's total seasonal snowfall now stands at 1.3 inches, the least amount ever in 129 years of Chicago snowfall history.
Coincidentally is the infamous 500+ homicides by all means in 2012. Largely contributing to the spike was the unusual number of homicides that occurred during the early part of the year, when the city experienced unseasonable warmth. In the first three months of the year, homicides ran about 60% ahead of the 2011 rate. (Chicago Tribune)

Think of the Welcome Back Kotter theme song if you "go back that far."
The time is way past due to indict Oil-Qaeda in order to not only avoid 100,000,000 more deaths by 2030, but to also begin an emergency transition to renewable resources unhindered by their bullshit.
