HURRICANE SANDY: CAPITALISM IS THE DISASTER
PEOPLE’S POWER IS THE ANSWER
Global capitalism has created this crisis!
We wish we could say this was solely a natural disaster, but every scientific source clearly has pointed out that “global warming” has been at the root of this kind of “super storm.” It is not an exaggeration to say that we have arrived at the tipping point on the climate crisis. The people and scientists who have been fighting this issue from India to Bolivia for decades must be allowed to step in and implement a real peoples plan and we must work to halt the capitalist system itself. Or else.
We can do it! People’s power must be on the agenda! Solidarity is our first defense! The movement must come together.
Join the Peoples Power Assembly this Saturday for an emergency response. But if transportation problems prevent you from reaching 34th St., there is much still to do.

The people must prepare to defend ourselves against the life-threatening and ever-intensifying economic and social misery that Wall Street and its politicians are imposing on us, including endless war.

New political space has opened due to the momentous eruption of the Occupy Wall Street Movement and its slogan "the 99% vs. the 1%." This movement continues despite massive repression organized by Homeland Security.
To respond to this repression and fight back, a People's Struggle for our basic needs and rights, with a program appealing to all workers, especially workers of color who face disproportionate levels of poverty, homelessness, unemployment and repression, is needed.
The rich get richer. They continue to put profits before people and attack what's left of the social safety net. We need a struggle for People's Power to win our basic rights.
The National Tour on building PEOPLES POWER will begin this discussion. It will not just be in union or community halls, it will also be in the streets. We have to march and demonstrate during this election year, to expose the lie that politicians represent the people's concerns.

Defend Baltimore's Black History
Save READ'S DRUG STORE!
PROTEST Sat. Feb 18th @ 12 noon
Very little has been done to elevate and preserve the special history of Baltimore's Civil Rights movement — which has national significance.
The 1955, student sit-in to oppose segregation at Read's Drug Store was the first sustained and successful sit-in of the Civil Rights movement. It predated many of the sit-ins that are well known nationally.
