Subject:Merry Christmas from all of us here at Mission Rock Radio!
Posted by:mission_rock.
Time:9:35 am.
Mood: wishing you happy holidays.
What a night! This year’s Mission Rock Before Christmas came quite unexpectedly, as we were informed that there will not be an opportunity for Mission Rock to take the airwaves next week. Therefore, we threw together in a flash a night of Christmas songs, amazing giveaways, and even a call from St. Nick over the phone lines (also known as former M.R. host, Thad Williams)!

Thanks for all of the great requests this week, and have a wonderful Christmas. We’ll be back the 28th of December with the best in Christian rock, punk, ska, hardcore, indie and yes, even some emo.

Remember, if you'd like to reach us, leave a message right here on the board, or E-mail us at MissionRock@yahoo.com

Posted by:mission_rock.
Time:11:24 am.
As much as I say I will be punctual in posting, I'm still not, maybe next week.  Anyway, last week was the first of many Mission Rocks that will be cut into due to North Central College Basketball, so hopefully you all still listen for the hour or so that we will have to broadcast.  Other that that, not too much happening in the Mission Rock world, we do have some new music in rotation, so I encourage listening.  This just in, we may have a full show tonight, so Big Bad Band Brawl could go down, something exciting!

Hey there Mission Rockers!

Today starts scheduling weirdness, as basketball season hits full force. However, that should mean that Pat and I (Leen) should have some time to solidify some computer stuff, including this LJ community, and hopefully, a return to mailing lists.

Since I promised, here are the top 3 stories that reached us last Tuesday night when we asked for your "best or worst snow stories". It was snowing then, and today it's pouring! Welcome to Chicagoland. Hope that you're able to tune in tonight.

Remember, it's wonc.org to listen live, and 89.1FM on your radio dial. We'll start up right after the basketball game and go until 10PM CST.

Story #2 - Almost Ice SkiingCollapse )

Subject:I'm finally posting.......again
Posted by:mission_rock.
Time:3:19 pm.
Well, to any of you who have been reading this, I haven't posted in awhile due to being extremely busy.  Now, however, school is out til the beginning of January, although I'll be working a lot, I will be posting on here more frequently, I promise.  So anywho, it has been an interesting few weeks in the Mission Rock studio.  Local Band Hook Line & Sinker had a two week reign, but were ousted by a certain band which I'm sure many of you have heard of.  If you are curious who it was look at the playlist from this past week.  We have been having tons of requests, which is always a pleasure, keep them coming.  This is your show too!  If you want to hear something that isn't played on typical Christain Radio, call us, that's what we are here for.  Well, enough rambling, if you have questions/comments, you can leave them here, or contact us through email, missionrock@yahoo.com.

Wow, the weeks are flying by really fast, but this past Mission Rock was unbelievable.  Thanks to everyone for all the requests and Band Brawl votes.  You definitely made my week, and I'm sure Leen would agree.  Lots of shows coming up, I suppose it's a good time for concerts.  I definitely am heading out to a handfull over the next few weeks, despite lack of time, I'll be there.  Other than that, not too much going on in the Mission Rock world, keep on listening, and let us know what concerts you head out to and how they were and such.

Another week has flown by, and with it, so has another Mission Rock without Sara Jane.  We do, however, have a solution to the whole problem of S!J being in China, Digital Sara Jane was unveiled last night, and we had a lot of fun with it, hope you enjoyed the new element in our show as well.  We also had a dethroning in the Big Bad Band Brawl Last night as Relient K overthrew Yellow Second with their song "Who I Am Hates Who I've Been."  If you want to listen to this song, vist www.mmhmm.com, also, you can listen to a few other new RK songs on www.purevolume.com.  Other than that, nothing really going on here at the Mission Rock Radio, just classes and work and such.  Don't forget, this is a message board for YOU, so use it!  As always, here's the playlist from lastnight.
