1. Halloween is a great excuse to do fun projects together. Klade and Kamree did the carving. Klade was such a great sport. He hates pumpkin guts but he cleaned all of them without complaining.

2. Leaves,

Leaves,

and more leaves.
We don't have any leaves in our yard, so we had to borrow some at the park. I love taking my kids there. It is a great time to focus just on them. I feel like I just want to freeze them all at the ages they are right now. I know I sound like an old lady saying this but they are growing up way too fast and these wonderful moments are so precious. I have had a goal lately, to try and provide more of these simple yet spectacular moments for my kids to enjoy. (or maybe I am doing it for me so that I can have more of these memories to treasure)

3. Beautiful Indian Summer days. 4. The craziness of summer is over. 5.The projects are done. 6. The crops are harvested and it is a time to relax and enjoy life before winter sets in.

7. Halloween also provides time to let loose and be silly.
Kolby the unhappy pumpkin.

Aubree the witch and Kelton the SCARY donkey. When I asked him what he wanted to be he would say " a Scaaarrryyy Donkey". It was so funny. I haven't met too many scaarry donkeys but we tried. We borrowed this costume from a neighbor and before we even got done taking pictures, I could tell it was not going to work out. It kept falling off of him and there was no way we were going to be able to get in and out of the car all night with that on.

We resorted to the costume box and decided the cute dalmation would work out much better. He really didn't care once he figured out what this "trick or treat" thing was all about he forgot all about the costume. But anytime someone would ask him what he was, he would still tell them he was a "Scaaarrry donkey". I didn't explain. I just got a kick out of all the confused looks people gave me.

Kamree was at a party when I took pics of the other kids. However, when I was going through her camera, I found this picture of her costume laid out on the floor in her room. It makes it a little freaky looking. Don't ya think? Anyway, we really don't have a name for her costume. She came up with it all on her own with random things from the Halloween box. The closest thing we could come up with was a "cowgirl secret agent".
We had so much fun trick or treating this year. The weather was great and the kids had a ball going house to house. They especially liked it when they got the homemade cupcakes, fanta pop bottles, and homemade popcorn balls. We even had one family that trick or treated on the back of a haywagon. So much fun!

Even Klade and I got to have a little fun this year. Klade is the inmate and I am his parole officer. We hosted a Halloween party for the "Grownups" at our house. It was great fun! Good food, and great friends makes any party fun.

8. I love the sense of accomplishment I get from canning and preserving the food from the harvest. This year I did pickles, tomatoes, salsa, peaches, apple pie filling, applesauce, and freezer corn. With all the craziness we had over the past 3years of moving, building a house, moving again, and having a baby, the canning jars sat empty for nearly 3 years. I couldn't handle the guilt everytime I saw the empty canning jars in my basement. My mission was to fill them all up this year even if I did have a new baby.(he was great by the way. Thank goodness for baby swings) My mission was accomplished. I even had to go buy more jars.
