  1. Hi Jeff! Wow... thats SO awesome to see that they're planning on keeping the F-5s going for awhile longer. Thanks for sharing the pics 👍 Are they standing up another unit, or are these going to replace existing Tigers?
  2. Thanks Thadeus! I'm really excited to be going on this project again. I forgot how much I enjoy building aggressors and adversaries 😆
  3. Damn Rustoleum 🤬🤬 (Who bought out Model Master paints and then promptly killed it off)
  4. Thanks for your kind comments Steve and BastianD 👍 Okay, the Euro One gray (FS 36081) for #04 is on! As you can see in the pic, the paint used is my much trusted and missed, Model Master brand. Tomorrow (Tuesday), I will give it a coat of Future to seal the dark gray. Wednesday I hope to start masking. Speaking of which.... I've decided to use the set of masks that I got from Aeromask, instead of the ones that I had made by Gatorzmask. I like the yellow tape style masks of Aeromasks better than the plastic film style used by Gatorzmask. Aeromask seems to adhere better.
  5. Thanks Don! I'm on an F-5E kick at the moment. Hopefully I can keep it going as I have a couple of aggressor F-16s and an F-15 in the works as well. I'm hoping to keep the mojo flowing long enough to put a dent in all of these projects 🤣 Fred.
  6. As a teaser, here's another AFV kit finished up as a USAF aggressor. I selected this jet because it later became VFC-13 #03, which I plan to build at some point. I think it's neat to see the history of the airframe during different time frames. All for now, Fred.
  7. Hi everyone, Well after dropping the ball on this build almost two years ago now, it's back on. Recently I wanted to build a couple of USAF aggressor F-5Es, and made myself promise to drag these two along in the process, so here I go! As you can see, the build of #04 has progressed well, and is now just about to the painting stage. The only issues that I've encountered with the kit all revolve around putting a pilot into the tub. First of all, once installed, the canopy lifting mechanism doesn't really let the canopy sit flat on the airframe. The bottom of the mechanism p
  8. Interesting Dutch.....🤔 I'm not a 1/144th guy, but I bet they scale these up to 1/72nd. Then I'll be on the recon bird! I've got several of their kits already, and while they are short runs kits, they're quite nice. Thanks for posting this 👍 Fred K.
  9. Thanks Ben! I found a pic of a Phantom from a different unit, but in the same time frame, and it too had the non-slotted stabs, and also showed the standard BARCAP load out, so that's what I'm going with. Regards, Fred.
  10. Hello everyone, I'm working on Hasegawa's 72nd F-4B kit that I plan to build in the markings of one of the first USN MiG killers from the Vietnam War. The aircraft in question is BuNo 152219 VF-21 NE/102. The kill came on June 17th 1965. From what I've read, the early F-4Bs did not have the slotted stabilizers. But by 1966 many did, and photos back this up. In most of the pics that I've found taken from the time frame of the kill, it appears that the aircraft did have the early, non-slotted stabilizers, but it's difficult to tell for sure. The one decent pic that I've found is below,
  11. Hi Dave, Shoot me a pm please. Thanks, Fred Krause.
  12. Thanks. I'll have a look. I tried the other method used in the other recommended video, but it turned out like crap. Clearly I need to work on my method 🤣 Regards, Fred.
