There's a newer version of it coming out in the coming weeks that basically just uses actual NG2 values and code to restore a ton of missing things in Sigma 2, from enemy behavior, 100% accurate delimb values, restored enemy spawns and placement, etc.

Dec 8, 2022 · I would still say Ninja Gaiden Black but Ninja Gaiden II is very much its own unique flavor that reaches higher highs (and unfortunately way lower lows). The Sigma 2 Black mod posted in this thread earlier is something I have dabbled in recently and it actually does an incredible job at fixing most of the core issues Sigma 2 introduced.

Mar 1, 2020 · Game was unbalanced, cheap trash when it was released. Ninja Gaiden (Black) is still the best game in the series and one of the finest character action games ever made. I don't know what went wrong with the second game. I actually enjoyed the third game more for what it was. DMC3 is still the gold standard for character action games IMHO.

Jan 18, 2021 · I've played Ninja Gaiden 2, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 PLUS because I'm stupid and they're really very different. I disagree with people who say one is definitively better than the other. While Gaiden 2 plays a lot faster than Sigma 2 and the "game feel" is pretty different overall, there are a lot of other odd tradeoffs.
