Sep 25, 2023 · Hello, Recent set up an Apex Pro on my university tank and we set up the ORP probe today. I read ranges should be between 300 and 400, but we are currently reading around 150…. I’m new to this sensor so is there something I am missing or? Tank is a 180gal mixed reef. Thanks for reading!

I read about ORP a while ago and didn't get it to understand clearly. So does this decrease mean something i need to take care or check any parameters.

Aug 21, 2022 · Cleaning the tank, vacuuming, stirring junk up will always lower ORP temporarily. Basically if the water is crystal clear the ORP will be pretty high (high 300's low 400's) and if the water is cloudy at all or 'less than perfectly clear' then the ORP is lower. Depending on how cloudy/how much organics/etc determines how low the ORP will report.
