Wednesday Sketch Challenge - Sketch 429

Welcome to another weekly Sketch Challenge!

Turn each inspiring sketch into a mini work of art to add to your stash — you could also add $50 worth of brand new MFT to your collection! Now that is a win-win.

Below you'll find Sketch 429. Create cards, scrapbook layouts, home decor, treat containers, mixed media, etc. using this week's sketch and be sure to link your project below for a chance at the weekly My Favorite Things Gift Voucher.

MFT products are encouraged, but not required. We just want to see what this week’s sketch inspires you to create! You can enter your cards for this week's challenge in the Inlinkz Link Up at the bottom of this post.

We're welcoming Cassie back to the Challenge Blog today for her take on this week's sketch.

Cassie kept her design similar to the sketch and used the triangle elements to highlight her scene. The soft ink color used to stamp out her images keeps the complete design visible with the focus remaining on the colored areas.

Karolyn swapped out the triangle elements for a unique Mod Square design. Adding different colors behind each of her die-cut windows provides a cheery, colorful palette that coordinates nicely with her stamped rainbow and die cut hearts.

Nicole used the triangle elements on her design to create greenery for her sweet owl image and added contrast by stamping her leaves in various shades of green. Foam adhesive behind her stamped owl adds dimension to her one layer design and keeps it the focus on the card.

You've Been Spotted - March 19, 2019

Each week we see fantastic projects featuring My Favorite Things product, and we're always so thrilled to see what our customers and followers are creating!

Today, we'd like to shine the spotlight on some awesome projects that have caught our attention in another edition of You've Been Spotted If you see your project featured, feel free to post this image on your blog and link to this post to show the world that you were spotted by My Favorite Things!

Ella Bella

Ella created a circular card featuring an adorable Easter scene complete with a bunny, an Easter egg and a couple of fluttering friends. By layering two circle die cuts and folding one in half, she was able to create a card base that has room inside for a message.

Myriam Dias

Myriam isn't quite done with her winter-themed stamps -  we adore this icy outdoor scene she created featuring the Polar Bear Pals stamp set and a beautifully colored background using Copic markers. A coordinating stamped envelope coordinates nicely with her card design, providing the perfect way to present it to the recipient.

Tina Dornbaum

Tina used the Mini Cloud Edges stencil to create an inked background and added two die cut grassy hills to complete her landscape. The adorable stamped birds with the addition of the flowers and mushroom form a sweet scene perfect for spring.

Vanessa Menhorn

Three Bitty Bears floating on colorful balloons, backed with a cloud-filled sky is an adorable way to send birthday wishes to someone special. The added sentiment strip in the center adds a festive greeting and helps anchor the scene.

Cristina Boh

Sometimes the scene you want to create is bigger than a standard A2 sized card base - Cristina made it work on her design by using a long, landscape base with inking to create her landscape. She completed her scene with an assortment of stamped characters ready for a birthday celebration.

We're welcoming Cassie back to the Challenge Blog today for her take on this week's sketch.

Cassie created an adorable scene with a cloud-filled background to highlight her characters. She used the sketch as inspiration for the placement of her sentiment and added her playful stacked critters to complete her design.

Anna used the sketch as inspiration for her trio of windows featuring three of the sweet cats from the Purrfect Friends stamp set. She used similar colors on each of her stamped characters and added a bold colorful sentiment strip with a white heat embossed greeting.

Nicole kept her card design very similar to the sketch and created a set of stitched squares to highlight her bird images. Adding the kraft panel behind her focal elements and stamped sentiment strip really helps them stand out and remain the focus on her card.
