Overview
Jake and Kristy Briggs say "I do" and move to New Mexico where Jakes begins work on a Masters degree, but they move back to Chicago before Jake finishes the program. Jake manages to somehow land a job as an advertising executive, and Kristy works as a research analyst, which allows them to live the suburbian American dream with a three-bedroom house of their own. When the never-ending parental pressure for grandchildren finally gets to Kristy, she stops taking birth control in the effort to get pregnant. Eventually she and Jake get pregnant, endure a legendary labor and delivery and end up with a beautiful son in the end, which changes Jake and makes him much more mature.
