Trailer | Overview The young employees of Empire Records, an independent music store, see the store as a home, the staff as a family and Joe, the store's owner, as a father figure. Lucas, the employee entrusted with closing the store for the day, discovers that Empire Records is about to be sold to Music Town, a large franchise operation. Unwilling to lose his second home, Lucas tries to save the store by heading to Atlantic City to win the cash Joe needs. Unfortunately, he gambles with the money he was supposed to deposit and loses it. To save the store and their friend, the employees of Empire Records work to raise the money they need. Unrequited love, old rivalries, an attempted robbery, the arrival of a former pop star, unexpected revelations and press attention complicate their efforts. |
