Overview
Scott Thorson is a naive young man brought up in a series of foster homes when he is introduced one night to the grandiose entertainer Liberace. Influenced by the legendary pianist's convincing allure, a lengthy romantic affair ensues. Though living a life of excessive wealth, Scott is secluded from the outer world and Liberace's manipulative tendencies gradually become a burden. When Liberace employs a plastic surgeon to execute a youthful facelift for himself, he simultaneously persuades Scott to have surgery to resemble the egomaniacal pianist as well. The resulting pain medication leads to Scott's addiction and fuels his growing resentment, leading to the bitter end of their relationship. Through public lawsuits and new lovers, the dysfunctional bond between the two never fully relinquishes its hold.
