Imagine a first date so awkward it’s deadly, literally. That’s the premise of Drop, the upcoming thriller from director Christopher Landon, known for his mastery of playful yet pulse pounding intensity in Happy Death Day and Freaky.
With a fresh mix of romance gone wrong, anonymous threats, and blood curdling stakes, Drop promises to be the whodunnit that will leave audiences questioning everyone and everything.
The film stars Emmy nominee Meghann Fahy (White Lotus) as Violet, a widowed mom finally dipping her toes back into the dating pool.
Things start promisingly enough when she meets Henry (Brandon Sklenar of It Ends With Us), a date who’s as charming as he is easy on the eyes. But Violet’s hopes for romance take a sharp turn when her phone starts receiving disturbing, personal memes from an unknown sender.
At first, the messages are mildly annoying, but they quickly escalate to terrifying. Violet is warned not to tell anyone and to follow instructions, or face the grim consequences.
The stakes couldn’t be higher: her tormentor threatens to harm her young son and sister, who are being watched by a hooded figure on her home security camera. The final demand? Kill Henry, her date, or everyone she loves dies!
