My latest novel, The Misunderstandings of Charity Brown, was published in July. The Sunday Times said, Enthrallingly told, it is a coming-of-age story about discovering your own values and making your own choices.

The Lure of the Honey Bird is an account of my travels in Ethiopia to collect folktales from every region of that beautiful country during which I met remarkable people from all walks of life, and heard stories of astonishing power and interest, with strong echoes in the Bible, the Koran, Aesop’s Fables, Grimm’s Fairy Tales and many other ancient repositories of stories.
