The way that he looks at you

Don't be a fool, for goodness sake
You've had three kids, and now you're not thinking straight
You say you don't need love, but there is this man
    A caring soul who understands

    CHORUS:
It's the way that he looks at you
The way you look at him, too
    Whenever he looks at you
You feel a love that's true
Now when he looks at you
You don't know what to do

He ain't single, he's married like yourself
His living is modest, he hasn't your wealth
He makes you laugh, you haven't done that in a while
And when you talk about him, it makes you smile

    CHORUS:
It's the way that he looks at you
The way you look at him, too
    Whenever he looks at you
You feel a love that's true
Now when he looks at you
You don't know what to do

    BRIDGE:
All you want is someone to listen
But you've got a man who does that every night
Don't throw away the life you've built
Until you find the answer that's right

    CHORUS:
It's the way that he looks at you
The way you look at him, too
    Whenever he looks at you
You feel a love that's true
Now when he looks at you
You don't know what to do

I think it is important to write songs from perspectives like this. It is a very popular song topic but i really enjoy the angle.
    This deserves to be recorded.

There isn't really any lines that stood out to me as original and not a cliche. The topic is very specific, which is a great start. I dont see many songs like this that are from a specific point of view, and keep that point of view throughout. I think this has potential, but the simple, un-original rhyming takes away from it. Although, I'd imagine it would work as a country song. Hearing it recorded could make a huge difference. Good luck and thanks for posting.
