That poem-enabled fish wouldn't happen to be one of these, eh?

    April 1 - Branches

Thanks for all the encouraging greetings, fellow NaPo-ers! (Sorry, Arlene, I didn't mean to suggest this month was going to be horoscopic, I just happen to be a pisces and liked the image I found while trolling for ideas.)

I just got back from a week visiting friends in AWESOME Australia, so I'm sure my trip will yield some inspiration. It did today, although there won't be any order to what comes out when. (Apologies in advance for my phonetic attempts at Australian and Jerseyite pronunciations. Which make me swoon. Heh.)

    It's a humid tail-end to summer
    in New South Wales.
We ask for two frozen cokes
and an ice water at the McDonald's
    between Newcastle and Nelson Bay,
but the girl says they don't have that.
Ice water? You don't have ice WADer?
Oh, WOEdah! Yeah, we do, here
    you ah.
I suspect if I were from New Joisey
    I'd have an easier time
    communicating in Australian.
    They have waduh theyah,
which means I'd probably have the same dilemma
in Trenton as I did in Sydney.
But both native speakers would say
    they like my accent
as much as I like theirs.
