    1. Aging is Hell Haiku

    leaf spins, wind tunnels
    muddy trenches, what the fuck
    dynamite explodes

    shit monsoon. bone-cold.
    flabby belly muscles waste
    away, eyes dry out,

    blood-red lips, cracked nails,
    marbled swollen skin, tiny
    blue paper-thin veins.

    feet not uterus
    cramp, missing the agony
    of menstruation.

    half a mouth, twelve teeth.
    liquid liquifies bowels,
    toilet a prison.

    splitting fingernails,
    greening toenails, red and white
    but for the black rot.

Quite a visceral opener. Especially liked 'half a mouth'.

I'm not sure I will ever read a line like 'feet not uterus' ever again

    A raw start to NaPo.

    Bon chance!

Haiku with a short fuse. DynOmite. Keep it morbid, it's an election year in the States.

Thank you all. Wasn't sure if starting so gross was best for this place but yes it is a horrible election year here and everything feels yuck.

    2. Winter is Worse Haiku

    snow plows build mountains,
    black ice mirrors glass sidewalks,
    sunless sleepless days.

    why even charge a
    three-wheeled scooter with cooling
    golfcart rooftop when

    the curbcuts are blocked?
people need to drive to work.
    never learned, took trains.

    why complain? what is
    the point? winter wearies all.
    strange aides shop for food.

    they don't stay strange. new
    faces, new accents, new smiles.
    they have families,

    their own problems. mine:
    multiple sclerosis, on-
    ychocryptosis.

    needles, pills, walkers,
    canes. so depressing. add age.
    feet expand. breasts droop

    down ribcage, childless
    nipple forever pink. what
    was the point, fashion?
