I write poems on the back of piano music, art touching art.

A neat synaesthesia. It opens the door to writing music in the margin of the poem and painting on the back. (Sculptures are less reciprocal - you can write on them but ...)

Hi, Andrea, good to have you join us for this month's Sevens.

Poems written on the back of sheet music brought to mind the age-old question: Which came first, the (chicken) words or the (egg) music? I also had the images of the two disciplines playing peek-a-boo with each other, or hide-and-seek, or the poem being coy or shy. That's a lot of ideas to ponder from 17 syllables, which is a good thing.

Thank you Dunc and Donner. That is funny, Donner, because some of the words mentioned in your comments are words that I had originally written while I was scribbling on the back of that sheet music, before I condensed the lines to 17 syllables.

    Conversation

She tosses her head slightly to the side
brushing her whitish hair across her forehead.
She introduces herself by saying her name
and goes on to talk but I keep thinking
of how she said “Anita” so nonchalantly
and how when you tell people your name
they think they now know you.
