2020 PFFA trick-or-treat apocalypse challenge

It's time for our (more-or-less) annual Halloween challenge! This year's theme is the apocalypse. Can't think what prompted that.

The rules:

1. Poems must be set during or after an apocalypse of your choosing.

An apocalypse can take a variety of forms: Nuclear war, zombies, plague, (also, a plague of zombies!), flood; in the Book of Revelations it's earthquake, mountains moving, the stars falling out of the sky. But don’t feel restricted to tradition. Have the world end however you want it.

2. Your poems can be any form, but must contain at least thirteen words from the official Halloween Word List.

3. You may enter up to two poems. Send them by PM to Donner.

4. Deadline to enter is midnight, Pacific time on November 1st

The poll to vote for PFFA's most scary scribe is now open! The poll will close at midnight, November 5th, and the winner will be revealed.

An optional prompt: Write a poem that takes an existing poem, novel or film and reimagines it against the back-drop of an apocalypse of your choosing. Yes, we are thinking of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. But this prompt is optional: if the muse takes you somewhere different, go with it.
