How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Mix "wet" ingredients in one bowl and "dry" ingredients in another.
  • Mix wet and dry together in largest bowl and add in 1/2 C. chopped nuts (pecan or walnuts work best)
  • Grease hands with shortening, and roll 1 Tb. of dough between hands to form into small balls.
  • Bake on a cookie sheet in hot oven for 20 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and let rest on baking sheet for 1 minute.
  • Roll hot cookies in glaze and place on a wire rack to cool. (Note: place a piece of wax or parchment paper to catch the drips from the cookies and make clean up easier.)
  • **When you mix the glaze ingredients together, it should have the consistency of white craft glue, and you may need to make more to coat all of the cookies.
