  • toleliz 10 years ago about Hungarian Langos
I made these tonight for dinner to serve with soup. They were delicious. I rolled out the dough into a rough rectangle and cut it into squares. I cut a couple of slits into each one which helps them cook evenly (my Mom always did it like that) I shallow fried them in about 1/4 cup oil and then sprinkled them with some salt.

It is one of my favorite foods. What can I say? I am a real Hungarian. We usually eat it in winter and it is a new year party delicacy.

It tastes like cold pork soup, jellied. Garlic is awesome.

Hi there, I love love love this dessert.. however, I do believe you've made an error on the amount of walnuts. You have listed a 1000 g. walnuts, according to my calculations, that's about 8 cups? LOL

I used a dark spiced rum called Kraken for the rum and instead of nuts i used whole coffee beans just to be different. Turned out good. Recipe itself its excellent.

Great minds!!! I was just thinking of adding pecans and/or walnuts to the blue cheese ice cream along with some chunks of caramelized pear. Can't be bad, right? I'll keep you posted when I get around to trying it. :)

I thought that it looked familiar!!!
I love your blog...and the pictures you take are great as well. I am going to make the Zserbo for my husband and in laws since they really like it so much.
I do have a question...After you put the jam and sugar/walnut mixture on do you layer it then poke the holes on top,or poke the holes on evey piece then layer and bake.not sure.
    thanks, Szakacs :)
