Sending Warm Thoughts with Memory Box Stamps

Don't you just love the fall, I tried to capture the Memory Box Maple leaves using my Copic Markers to make them look like the colors of fall. I think they turned out pretty good. I stamped a piece of Coconut Swirl card stock with my Tuxedo Memento Ink making sure that the first one would be centered and then stamping the other where they were somewhat uniformed. I am not sure if I am liking the square look of the leaves; I may try doing the card again and making sure I just stamp my image where ever on my paper. I also stamped an extra leaf on a piece of scrap and then colored my leaves in. My Copic Marker colors are YR04, YR07, R24, R27, G12, G14, G94, G99, Y15 and Y19. I used Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink to add color to the sides of my card and to give my leaves some shading so that the Coconut Swirl paper wouldn't seem so white. I layered my paper on rust colored card stock and then placed it on my gold card base. My extra leaf that I colored, I fussy cut it out and placed it on a pop dot. I added a small tan twine bow and a sentiment from Unity Stamps that says "Sending Warm Thoughts" to the top center front using my Tuxedo Memento Ink. Hope you are inspired today.

Witches Brew Card with Teresa Collins

I just love the new Teresa Collins Haunted Hallows Collection, it is just gorgeous. I made my card using the Damask and Chandelier Crows Paper along with the Witches Brew sticker from the sticker sheet that goes with the collection. I inked my edges using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

My favorite part though is the tulle, I took a 12" piece of black tulle, gathered it and placed it on glue dots to hold into place. I then added orange twine from The Twinery by wrapping it around the card to help secure the tulle into place. I added my Witches Brew Sticker on with pop dots to give it some dimension.

A Pocket Full of Memories Blog Hop Sept 24-25

Hello Fall!!!! I love you so much. I love the colors of fall, the crisp air and the holiday seasons that are coming along from Halloween to Christmas, how fun. We challenged to make albums using pockets and I am always up for a challenge (thanks Jess). I used 5 pages from the Melissa Frances book with pockets. It is really a 10 page book but I only used 5. I used the Recollections Autumn Collection that I bought last year at Michael's on the clearance rack for 80% off, you can't beat that.

See how the tags come out of the pocket holders. I tried to make each one interactive and even added a few extra hidden compartments.
Like this one, on one sheet of the paper was the Thanksgiving Dinner menu, of course it was a must to add but because my pockets were only a little over 4" wide I had to fold it in thirds and used this fun clip to hold it together. See how it is when it is folded out. I can add our Thanksgiving menu to it when the time is right and maybe even a few of our favorite family recipes.

Some of our Family Traditions is having a house full of family and friends come for the day but usually it is like a 4 to 5 day celebration. I thought I would have a page with some our favorite things we do like games, going to the park, etc along with a list of everyone's names and address - just so it would be more of a keepsake book then anything else.

One of our Family Traditions is we always go around our tables (because we have so many guest we have multiple tables) and tell what we are most thankful for. I am planning to have them right their thanksgivings in my book this year. Isn't that an awesome idea.
All of the tabs have some kind of three dimensional decoration on them, I like this one the best and use it all of the time.

Another thing my husband and I have done now for the last 15 years is give our children, grandchildren and friends a special ornament at Thanksgiving. We try to buy an ornament that commemorates an event that they did that year, we also try to find one that would be a first that they ever did so it would mean more. For instant we have two of grandchildren that just started karate so that might be a possibility for their special ornament this year. Of course I will have to now document them this year in my cool little pocket album that I made.

Halloween Candy Box made with my ScorPal

I am always looking for ways to paper craft with materials that I already have. This is a candy box that I made using one piece of double sided paper
To start score your 12" x 12" double sided paper at the 4" and 8" score lines on your ScorPal or other scoreboard. Turn the paper and score again on the 4" and 8" score lines so that you form intersections. On each corner score diagonally to the corner of the center square. Fold sides up and corners in when finished so they will form your candy dish. Open the paper back up and lay where the inside is facing up.

See how it looks from the top view after it was scored, it gave a place for almost all of my favorite Halloween Candy

Here are the 4 different sides to my box. I just decorated the outside of my box with Bo Bunny Spooktastic stickers, buttons that I had colored in, black twin, pop dots, some brads and fussy cut some of the scraps from the My Minds Eye papers I used. This is a wonderful way to use your scraps and stickers up that you have in your stash and make a wonderful candy box.

Card Sketch Challenge - Sept 17-18

So today I am featuring a card to send to your child's teacher. In most location school starts about 7:30 to 8 in the morning, so I assume most parents are up at 7 am or home by 7 pm; I thought this would be a nice way to send a card to your child's teacher to have them call you when you need to talk. My little clock is part of the Graphic 45 ABC Primer Collection - School Days paper and I layered it with paper from a piece of the Jumping Jane paper. I also placed it on a pop dot to give it some dimension

All About Fall Blog Hop Day Two-Sept 16

I made my card using a black card base, Graphic 45 Botanicabella and Domestic Goddess paper and tag for my Fall Card. I wanted to show you a closer look at the tag, I distressed it with my Tim Holtz distress tool, layered it on black card stock, placed it on pop dots, and added some sheer burgundy ribbon to the tag that I placed on my card. I also added a Kaisercraft Happy Birthday Rub On. I hope you enjoyed my non-traditional Fall Birthday Card and continue with the hop by visiting Brenda's at Creativity is Only A State of Mind.

Boo Card

Todays Halloween Card is my "Boo"Card that I made using the My Minds Eye Nightfall Accessory Sheet, Spooked Stripes and Spooked Words papers. I took all of the pieces using my Tim Holtz Distress Tool and the Wild Hone and Dusty Concord Distress Inks I distressed all of the edges of my cards. I then added my border strips to the front of the card that I had assembled on my card base.

I added my tag by placing it on pop dots, added a button that I had tied with sheer green ribbon and added a sticker from the Paper Studio Stickabilities. When it was together I added Flower Soft Sage Green to the leaves. If you have never used Flower Soft you will love it but remember it takes patience and time for it to dry.

Fall or School Project Blog Hop Sept 10th

Sylvia from Bella Scrapbook Designs is hosting a blog hop today featuring either Fall or School projects. I decided to do a Family Fall Card that I hope you will enjoy - so if you came from Sherri's Scraps then you are hopping in the right direction but if you just came by to see what I am up to I would encourage you to go back to the beginning of the hop and start at Bella Scrapbook Designs. I am sure you will be inspired by all of the projects, find some amazing tutorials and maybe a little blog candy along the way. My card is made using a 5x7 card base and Pink Paislee Amber Road Harvest Hayride paper and rub ons.

The tree, border and sentiments are all from the same rub on sheet. I know some "Love" rub ons and some don't; BUT here is a tidbit on using them. Whether you use a rub on tool or a popsicle stick the main thing is to take your time lifting them up. So first, start rubbing and as you rub start lifting the paper up slowly and continue to rub, if you notice that the rub on isn't staying behind just lay back down and continue to rub, they should lay down. Most people just rub and "when" they think it is good enough the lift the whole paper up and guess what a lot of times the rub on is still attached, so just be patient and go slow. I am sure you will come to love rub ons also. I hope you enjoyed my little tidbit and if you have something else to add about rub ons I am sure my readers would love to hear. Trick or Treat Witch Card

Today I am featuring this adorable Witch card that I made from the Penny Black Teatin' Witch. She is just to cute, I used my Copic Markers: G00, G02, G05, R24, R27, E35, E37, E31, E00, V12, V15, V17, C1, N3, B95, YR04, Yr07, Y15, and Y19. I just love the depth that the Copics give to any project but I feel you can also get wonderful colors with your Water Color Pencils, Colored Pencils or other markers.

My paper is from Bo Bunny Color Me silly "Spirit" paper. I added some Crystal Stickles on my pumpkin that I fussy cut out and placed on pop dots. Makes it look like there is frost on my pumpkin. I also used my Tim Holtz Distress Tool to distress all of the pieces before i attached them to my card base. My sentiment is a sticker from Paper Studios Stickabilities but you can use any sentiment on your project.

Labor of Love Blog Hop Sept 4 abd 5

Ellen from Card Monkey Jarvis has asked us to participate in a banner blog hop, but with this hop we are going to be sending our banners to the Pediatric Specialty Care Center for the children that are living there to enjoy so if you came from the talented Carol of Cardstock Scissors and Glue you are going in the right direction in the hope but if you just stopped by to see what I was up to please go the Card Monkey Jarvis to begin the hop. I hope you enjoy the banner that I made for my child to have placed over their bed. I thought I would share with you a tidbit that Ellen shared with the group; it is as following: I thought I'd tell you a little bit about the special kids we typically see at Pediatric Specialty Care (http://www.facebook.com/www.pediatricspecialty.com), so you know how much your banners will be appreciated.
Many of the children who reside at PSC were born severely prematurely -- NICU babies whose lungs never had the chance to develop in-utero. While miracles of medicine have enabled some of the tiniest babies to survive and thrive with no developmental delays or physical problems, some require a lifetime of assistance to breathe, using a ventilator.
Some other babies suffer the effects of having become drug-addicted or alcohol-dependent while their moms were pregnant. Others have had a traumatic birth, where they were "anoxic" or starved of oxygen, affecting their brains. Some have syndromes or diseases, like muscular dystrophy, sickle cell anemia, and cerebral palsy.
There are some truly heartbreaking stories to be told of children at PSC who were healthy and "normal" until tragedy struck suddenly to change their lives and the lives of their families forever.

I made my banner primarily using the We R Memory Keepers Spookville Collection and a Bo Bunny set of 6x6 chipboard pages.

We were asked not to be morbid or two scary and I felt this collection was more whisical.

I also used some Little Yellow Bicycle Canvas Sticker borders and rubons and some Bo Bunny Sickers

I haven't used stickers for awhile but I felt that the whimsy appeal of these worked perfectly for my banner.

I had some die cut spider webs so I added them to this page along with a die cut that I had laying around.

Happy Birthday Card with Doodlebug Designs

Well this is my birthday month so I thought I would start with a card that I made recently for a birthday card swap that I was involved with. I used the Unity Stamps August Kit for my cupcake image and colored it in with my Copic Markers: YG05,C1,R22,RV04,BV01,R27,R29,YR31,BO2,G14,R17 and BV04. My paper is Doodlebug Nifty Notions and Petite Prints along with Bo Bunny Wassabi Dot. I used Kaisercraft Birthday Rub Ons for my sentiment.

I punched my white, pink, and green mats using the EK Success Deco Corner Chomper and the Deco Scallop on my Doodlebug Daisy Stripe. I placed the stamped image on some pop dots to add dimension as well as adding a tab that I cut out using the Quickutz Recipe tab and my Big Shot. Don't you just love adding dimension to your cards...
