Scotland, PA is a 2001 film directed and written by William Morrissette. It is a modernized version of William Shakespeare's Macbeth. The film stars James LeGros, Maura Tierney, and Christopher Walken. Shakespeare's tragedy, originally set in Dunsinane Castle in 11th century Scotland, is reworked into a dark comedy set in 1975, centered on "Duncan's Cafe", a fast-food restaurant in the small town of Scotland, Pennsylvania. The choice of Pennsylvania is arbitrary, though it coincides with two real towns, one southwest of Harrisburg on the outskirts of Chambersburg called Scotland and one just south of Erie, called Edinboro after Scotland's Edinburgh. The film was shot in Nova Scotia. The character of Macbeth is presented as "Joe 'Mac' McBeth", Lady Macbeth as "Pat McBeth", Duncan as cafe owner "Norm Duncan", Macduff as "Lieutenant Ernie McDuff", and Banquo as fry cook "Anthony 'Banko' Banconi". The Three Witches are presented as a trio of bohemians. The film was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival in 2001. The movie's soundtrack is made up of Bad Company songs because, in Morrissette's words, "the band's catalogue was surprisingly inexpensive".

Rustlers' Rhapsody is an American comedy-Western film. It is a parody of many Western conventions, most visibly of the singing cowboy films that were prominent in the 1930s and the 1940s. The film was written and directed by Hugh Wilson and stars Tom Berenger as a stereotypical good-guy cowboy, Rex O'Herlihan, who is drawn out of a black-and-white film and transferred into a more self-aware setting. Though supposedly Wilson received his inspiration from working at CBS Studio Center, the former Republic Pictures backlot, the movie was filmed in Spain. Patrick Wayne, son of Western icon John Wayne, co-stars, along with Andy Griffith, Fernando Rey, G.W. Bailey, Marilu Henner and Sela Ward. Henner was nominated for a Golden Raspberry Award as Worst Supporting Actress.

In this paper-puppet satire, a modern-day Dante Alighieri (Dermot Mulroney) awakens, completely lost, with an epic hangover. As he makes his way through a dangerous neighborhood, Alighieri meets the poet Virgil (James Cromwell), who offers to lead him home. Instead, Virgil treats Alighieri to a chilling tour of the Underworld, where he witnesses sins of all kinds and passes through the gaping mouth of hell -- which bears a surprising resemblance to the concrete jungle he already knows so well.

The Double-D Avenger is a 2001 American comedy film by William Winckler. This film, first released in fall 2001, written, produced and directed by cult filmmaker William Winckler, is a campy spoof of "Wonder Woman" about a costumed superwoman who uses her super bust to fight crime. It's of special interest to cult movie fans since it's the only "reunion film" of Russ Meyer's famous actresses Kitten Natividad, Haji and Raven De La Croix. The story focuses on big busty Chastity Knott who must use her new amazing abilities as the super-stacked costumed crime fighter, The Double-D Avenger, to stop villainous bikini bar owner Al Purplewood and his sexy, murderous strippers. The movie is full of live-action comic-book action, sexual innuendo, Russ Meyer-inspired camera angles focusing on the female character's breasts, and other "off color" verbal and visual gags. Remarkably, there is no nudity in the picture. Variety critic Dennis Harvey gave the film a very positive review noting its "a cheerfully silly ode to larger-than-life femininity." The fun film runs 77 minutes, in color, and is suggested for audiences over 18.

"Rocky VI" is a 1986 nine-minute black-and-white short parody of Rocky IV by Finnish director Aki Kaurismäki. The film stars Antti Juhani "Silu" Seppälä as Rocky and Sakari Kuosmanen as Igor, his Soviet opponent. In the film, the two boxers fight at Töölö Sports Hall in Helsinki. The much bigger Igor quickly knocks out Rocky and wins the match. Rocky VI is still shown at many film festivals. In 2004, the film was screened at Finále Plzeň in Czech Republic and at Xèntric at the Center of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona in Spain. In 2007, the film was screened at Tampere Film Festival as part of a Kaurismäki retrospective. In the title, the letter VI does not actually represent number six, but an inverted IV, of Rocky IV, the specific film parodied. The fifth film in the Rocky series, Rocky V, was released almost four years after this parody. The sixth Rocky film, Rocky Balboa, was released 20 years after Rocky VI.

Dr. Hackenstein is a 1988 comedy horror film written and directed by Richard Clark and distributed by Troma Entertainment. After the death of his wife, Dr. Hackenstein concocts the perfect plan: with the help of a few graverobbers and a couple of lost girls, he can use the spare parts to reanimate his dead spouse and build a better woman. Comedienne Phyllis Diller has a small part in the movie, along with Oscar nominee Anne Ramsey in her last role. It was shown at Cannes Film Festival in May, 1989, having been released on home video in January. Shooting was comparatively swift, principal photography having begun in May the previous year. It was given a commercial re-release fifteen years later, on DVD format. The film's visible contemporary influences include Re-Animator and Young Frankenstein. Critic Sandra Brennan characterized it as a parody of the "Frankenstein" films. Identifying it as "among the first films to blend pure gore with slapstick comedy", Rotten Tomatoes deemed it a precursor and trendsetter to later films, such as Scary Movie, which draw on those genres.

Italian Spiderman is an Australian film parody of Italian action–adventure films of the 60s and 70s, first released on YouTube in 2007. The parody purports to be a "lost Italian film" by Alrugo Entertainment, an Australian film-making collective formed by Dario Russo, Tait Wilson, David Ashby, Will Spartalis and Boris Repasky. Ostensibly an Italian take on the comic book superhero Spider-Man, the film is a reference to foreign movies that misappropriate popular American superheroes such as the Turkish film "3 Dev Adam", and licensed series such as the Japanese TV series "Spider-Man", both of which alter the character of Spider-Man for foreign audiences. Other notable entries include the Indian version of Superman, I Fantastici Tre Supermen and La Mujer Murcielago. It also resembles the movie The Bathman dal pianeta Eros. A trailer was released, followed by a full-length feature made up of ten mini-episodes.
