I was watching 4.17 and I noticed something interesting with Sam and Deans' last names, that they had changed from the type of gun Winchester to Smith and Wesson.

Dean Kills Hitler With A German-Made Gun
- Photo:
From Redditor u/Zulanjo:
I'm making my way through the series for the first time and got to the end of 12x05 when i spotted a familiar looking handgun look and logo, not only does Dean execute Hitler with a Walther PPQ but the extra bit is that all the goons can be seen using strictly Walthers, a German-based firearms manufacturer.

The Thule Use Mini-Uzi Which Were Designed By Jewish Gunmakers
- Photo:
From Redditor u/Zulanjo:
I went back and skimmed through 8x13 when the Thule were first introduced and skimmed through the episode and got to the part where a Thule goon was holding Sam at gunpoint with a Micro-Uzi which is a pretty iconic firearm, what you might not know is that the Uzi (and subsequently the Micro-Uzi) was invented by a Jewish gun designer for the state of Israel to be used by their special forces. The irony of course is a Nazi organization using a Jewish invented and made firearm.

Dean Constantly Uncocks His Gun For A Specific Reason
- Photo:
From Redditor u/RockhoundinnaWoods:
Colt 1911s have three or four safeties depending on the series (70 or 80). One or two (depending on series) internal firing pin safeties and two external safeties. External is a safety lever and a grip safety
There are three conditions of readiness when carrying 1911s
Condition 3 = magazine loaded, chamber empty, hammer down. Slide needs to be racked before gun will fire
Condition 2 = magazine loaded, chamber loaded, hammer down. Hammer must be pulled back before gun will fire
Condition 1 = magazine loaded, chamber loaded, hammer back and thumb safety engaged. Safety must be flicked off before gun will fire. Also known as cocked and locked.
So it seems Dean prefers to carry in Condition 2, so he decocks his 1911 before he holsters it, and has to cock it when he draws.

Dean Taps His Gun Magazine To Settle The Bullets
- Photo:
From Redditor u/KindaYeemo:
The reason one taps the magazine is to make sure the bullets are properly settled inside the magazine. If they aren’t all shifted to the back of the magazine they won’t load properly when one fires and could easily cause a problem. It also helps one be able to see more easily if the magazine is fully loaded since the back often shows the bullets either through a small line or very small circular windows in the magazine so you can see how many bullets are in the magazine.

The Winchesters Use Older Weapons Because They're More Reliable
- Photo:
From Redditor u/manbearpig2012:
Well the sawn off is handy, it's almost the size of a pistol... There's really no other way to get a shotgun that small... Also, those old guns tend to be super reliable as long as you do regular maintenance, which they shoe the boys doing.... Sure a short barrel 12 pump may hold more rounds but isn't as easy to tuck under a jacket.... I've never found it an issue in my eyes.... I like old guns... I mean Dean always has his 1911 pistol handy, that's a beauty.

I just finished watching and I also noticed all versions of death had a different variation to their scythe. Maybe these types of weapons take on some aspects of their wielder.
