Arnab Goswami

Arnab Ranjan Goswami (born 9 October 1973) is an Indian journalist and television news anchor. He is the managing director and majority owner of the news channel Republic TV which he cofounded along with Rajeev Chandrasekhar, a member of Rajya Sabha and vice-chairman NDA Kerala. Goswami was the editor-in-chief and a news anchor of the Indian news channel Times Now and ET Now, from 2006 to 2016. On Times Now, he anchored The Newshour, a live debate, that aired at 9 pm (IST) weekdays on the channel. He also hosted a special television programme Frankly Speaking with Arnab. On 1 November 2016, Goswami resigned as Editor-in-Chief of Times Now. His news channel Republic TV was launched on 6 May 2017.According to a 2015 biography by the Financial Times, Goswami's show "The Newshour" was India’s most-watched English-language political show, his independence, depth of coverage and "kangaroo court" news anchor style had made him "one of the country’s most controversial public figures". His post-2016 media venture Republic TV has been the most watched English news channel in India for 100 weeks in a row since its founding.
