We made a trip to OKC and the Wichita Mountains NWA in mid July. In OKC, we stayed at the Omni, which was a nice hotel, and we had a great view from the 16th floor. The downside is, that the light is on the wrong side in the morning, so the view of the departing Heartland Flyer is dark side. So it goes.... |

Oklahoma City had two passenger stations, the Santa Fe station that is the northern end of the Heartland Flyer, downtown. The other station, now bereft of tracks, is south of downtown, tucked in between Scissortail Park and I 40, and once served the Frisco, MKT and Rock Island. Its in good shape, and can be seen easily from the Omni, where we stated recently in this view from our 16th floor room. |

We made a trip to OKC and a few other places,staying in the Omni in OKC, which had a commanding view of the surrounding area from our 16th floor room. One of the view was of the Rocks Biddle St yard, which is now worked by the Stillwater Central, a pair of whose units are working the west end in this morning shot from our room. |

Dont know how rapid this is, but it gets you through downtown. This articulated light rail vehicle-somehow, streetcar doesnt seem to fit-was turning in front of us on the morning after the Alan Jackson show. |
