KCS had a moderate derailment here late last week. I can imagine how this might have happened, as evidenced by the spots in the track where virtually no spikes held the rails to the tie on the field side of the rail. You can see the new panel track installed after the derailment, identified by the joint bars. But, things happen and you simply can't watch the whole railroad at once. |

The train originates at La Cygne, KS, and ties into the Pittsburg Sub. Mainline via a spur off of Amsterdam Siding. The train pulled into Drexel Siding and met 3 southbounds. This will become BNSF Train E KCLCAM0 54 when it is delivered at interchange tonight in KC. |
