Still wearing its PC "mating worms" logo and black shroud paint, this steam generator car was originally part of the NYC roster before bouncing through the PC and onto the CR rosters. One online source says that New York Central built their steam generator cars on the frames of steam locomotive tenders. Not sure what the disposition of this rare car was - probably didn't make it out of the Conrail era. No photographer or date given for this photo. |
