As usual, we are adding data to the techtab first as
information is acquired. This species is another
of the group of "ringed ringless amanitas" that are
presently being discovered in the southeastern U.S.

Neither odor nor taste has yet been recorded.
discussion
This species was originally collected in Louisiana
where it has
been found with Wateroak (Quercus nigra).
It's range has been extended to southern Maryland by a
group of collections made under Pin Oak (Q.
palustris).—R. E. Tulloss, S. D. Russell,

Having five collections from a single site, in the
present case, allows us to have a reasonable, initial
estimate for
the number and location of probable SNPs (single
nucleotide polymorphisms) in genes we can successfully
derive repeatedly. In this case we have five
copies of the nrLSU gene for this organism, all
beginning with the first character of the
5'-motif. The five initial segments of
are very similar in length—they range from 1443
to 1476 characters long.
The differences between the sequences that we
have observed and the positions at which the
differences occur are the following:
Each entry in this table provides a character
position in the aligned set of sequences and
the characters (including ambiguities)
recorded at that position. Character 1 is the
initial (leftmost) character of the 5' motif of
nrLSU. In the present case, the motif is that
characteristic of the provisional series
