Models and ensembles reasonably agree that recent moderate to
breezy easterly trades in place across Hawaii will linger today,
with generally dry conditions but a few showers favoring
windward/mauka areas. Over the weekend into early next week, a
mid-upper low will be overhead of the state, possibly raising the
typical inversion. This and a possible weak surface trough could
allow for more showers, especially over favored terrain, but
likely not any widespread heavy rain. As these features exit,
there looks to be reduced support for showers once again by
Monday/Tuesday of next week, for a return to a somewhat dry trade
wind pattern into mid-later next week.
