As the cold front pick up steam and tracks faster to the east
tonight, so will the ongoing cluster of thunderstorms as they race
through the Middle Mississippi Valley and Great Lakes overnight.
Additional heavy rainfall will occur from eastern IA and northern
IL to central MI overnight. By Sunday morning, the storms will
already have made their way into the Lower Great Lakes and Ohio
Valley where they will maintain their progressive movement east
throughout the day. With drier and more stable air finally
engulfing much of the Midwest thanks to the arrival of high
pressure from the west, more tranquil weather conditions will
support ongoing clean up efforts throughout the region. However,
river flooding across portions of the Midwest is expected to
persist into the upcoming week.

The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 1000 AM CDT. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
