...Heavy rain continues to impact the southern Mid-Atlantic as
Debby slowly moves northward...
Flood Warnings are in effect for portions of southeastern Georgia,
southeastern South Carolina, eastern North Carolina, and southern
Virginia.
In addition, Flash Flood Watches are in effect for portions of
Northern/Central Appalachians.
Tornado Watches are in effect for portions of southeastern
Virginia and northeastern North Carolinia.

At 1000 AM EDT...Debby's slow northward motion was resulting in a
prolonged period of heavy rain for the southern Mid-Atlantic
Coast, and rain bands were gradually expanding into the northern
Mid-Atlantic. National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated the
heaviest rain was focusing over the most of western, northern
North Carolinas and south-central Virginia, while moderate to
locally heavy rain was impacting portions of South Carolina. In
addition to heavy rain, Debby was producing strong gusty winds
along the southern Mid-Atlantic Coast. Below are preliminary
