Before Christmas break we were able to go see Kaitlyn sing 'Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer' with her Kindergarten class. Kaitlyn loved that Doug was able to come too because Alpine School District got out for winter break 2 days earlier than the Nebo School District.
Kaitlyn was also excited that Santa and Mrs. Claus visited her Kindergarten class. She was able to read to them and tell Santa what she wanted for Christmas.

Let it Snow
Kaitlyn took a small dance class for one week at the local high school, Maple Mountain, where the students taught the little girls a short dance for a Christmas program. The class was everyday for one week, and Kaitlyn absolutely loved it. Everyday she'd ask if it was time to go to class yet. Her friend Kya took the class too and they had fun dancing together. At the end of the week there was a short program for the parents. Kaitlyn LOVES to dance and I'm thinking that we'll have to sign her up for another dance class soon. When she grows up she says she wants to be a ballerina.
And here's the video of the performance. Doug said I went crazy with zooming in and out, so if you get dizzy while watching it, I'm sorry. Good thing it's only a couple minutes long.

Christmas Decorating
The day after Thanksgiving is the time we always put up our Christmas decorations. We were able to get all the many boxes out of the crawl space, thanks to Doug and Kaitlyn. I can't believe how many boxes of Christmas stuff we have. The 1st thing we put up was the tree. Here's Kaitlyn and Doug showing where the tree is going.
All set up and the lights working. Now we just had to fluff the branches and put the ornaments on. Love Kaitlyn's little pose. And where was Jason when all this excitement was going on? He was sacked out on the couch because he was sick. Poor kid. So he missed putting up the ornaments. But he's making up for that by taking them off the tree and putting them back on now.
The final results ...
And here's some more decorations that we put up around the house.
I love this time of year and am so excited for Christmas to be here.

Busy, Busy Jason
Jason sure does keep things exciting at our house. He's a very curious 2 year old, and into everything. There's been a few days that I have had to give him multiple baths just to get all the dirt off. In this picture he was actually with old fire pits coals that Doug hadn't cleaned up from previous use, in which, I blame Doug for some of the mess. Jason had black soot everywhere. There were even little charcoal handprints on the playhouse outside. Charcoal is good for the skin, right? He definitely had to have a bath after that.
And here he is in the corner cupboard again. He's almost too big for it now, but he still jumps in every once in a while. Kinda looks like he's pole dancing. :)
It seems like I can't leave him alone for 5 minutes otherwise he's into some sort of mischief. One morning while I thought he was still asleep and I was in the shower, he unrolled an entire roll of toilet paper and tried flushing it down the toilet. The toilet overflowed and I had a nice mess to clean up. Yesterday I had to call Poison Control to see what would happen if a kid overdosed on ibuprofen. I came into the kitchen from the other room and found him up on the bar, with my purse open and the bottle of ibuprofen, in supposedly a child-proof bottle, open and sitting right in front of him. Luckily I don't think he ate any, but I did learn that a child would have to take about 12 ibuprofen pills before there was serious complications. Good to know! This morning I discovered that he tried to get a drink by himself and spilled almost a full picture of apple juice onto the kitchen floor. Sigh!
But even with all the mischief, he's still a great kid! I love how inquisitive he is, how he loves to help me, his smile is so cute, and he loves to cuddle up with me. It reminds me that even though he tries so hard to be independent and grown-up like Kaitlyn, that he still needs me and he's still my sweet little boy.

Gymnastic Class
We decided to put Kaitlyn into another gymnastic class this year. It was a 8 week class and this year she was able to take the class with her friend Kya. She loved the class, especially the uneven bars and the balance beam. Unfortunately on the very last class Kaitlyn was sick with croup and couldn't go. It was unfortunate too because I was planning on taking pictures the last day of class. Thankfully Jen took these pictures the previous week and sent them to me so that we could have some pictures of the fun that she had doing gymnastics. Thanks Jen!
