[Kenwood] Help! - TS870 S-meter in-op

Folks -

I installed the "overload modification" per Kenwood service bulletin. The RX
improvement seems minor but noticeable. However, The S-meter now does not
deflect at all on a received signal regardless of strength. If I back the RF
gain down, the meter goes up as normal and it acts okay when acting as power
out meter.

Following the s-meter adjust procedure in the service manual, I can never
see any change in the display.

It looks like the rx DSP sends s- meter data to the display processor. Maybe
I've zapped the DSP? Everything else on the display seems to work fine.

I'd be grateful for any thoughts or comments.
