Anything less than 2:1 *is* a match. If your antennas offer a low SWR without the coupler, then the coupler has nothing to do. The coupler has to stop tuning at some point and most autocouplers do this at 1.5:1 to maybe 1.8:1. Before looking for a problem, verify that you actually have one. The advice to try it on an antenna which offers a non match (see above) is a good one. Wayne VE3CE
