[Kenwood] TS850 and SB200

I'm not an amp person, but isn't the relay on the 850 12 volts dc, and the
SB200 around 120 volts ac? There are plenty of places that make interfaces
for such a combination. Check around, but I'm sure you do not connect an 850
direct to an SB200/SB220, etc.

Brian...

You're playing with very high voltages here. I suggest that you read the
manual for the Heathkit amp very carefully and follow the tuning
instructions to the letter. If you have the plate voltage and current set
incorrectly, you're inviting cherry red (not good at all) and possibly
arcing 572B tubes, which are quite expensive to replace.
You are correct about the RCA phono jack. That's the input from the exciter
(Knwd) to the amplifier.
Also, read the manual for the Knwd TS-850 as it pertains to running the
radio with an amplifier.

Good Luck and do take care with that amp. Its voltages are LETHAL.

I think I got that last one right so I taking a guess.
I do know its a Heathkit amp.

I would like to run the above combo for the upcoming ARRL 10m contest.

Any suggestions on what I need to do.

I have never ran a amp with a HF radio so I'm open to any and all
suggestions.

If its any help I do know the back of the amp has a unusual connector, not a
SO-239.

I want to say like a RCA type jack.

Brian
