Unfortunately, the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory has been very non-tranparent and slow to produce the Edgar Wilson Awards for the discovery of comets by amateur astronomers (cf. IAUC 6936) during the past decade. The Central Bureau has only recently been able to confirm that the awards for comets discovered during July 2014-June 2018 did, in fact, go out some years ago. These Awards are listed below. The Edgar Wilson Awards for 2015 went to: Terry Lovejoy, Australia, for C/2014 Q2; Gennadii Borisov, Russia, for C/2014 Q3, C/2014 R1, and C/2015 D4; Leonid Elenin, Russia, for P/2014 X1; Michal Kusiak, Michal Zolnowski, Rafal Reszelewski, and Marcin Gedek, Poland, for C/2015 F2; Cristovao Jacques, Brazil, for C/2015 F4; and Guoyou Sun and Xing Gao, China, for C/2015 F5. The Edgar Wilson Awards for 2016 went to: Eduardo Pimentel, Brazil, for P/2015 Q2; William Kwong Yeung, Canada, for C/2015 VL62; and Leonid Elenin, Russia, for C/2015 X4. The Edgar Wilson Awards for 2017 went to: Gennadii Borisov, Russia, for C/2016 R3 and C/2017 E1; Joao Barros, Brazil, for C/2017 D2; Terry Lovejoy, Australia, for C/2017 E4; Goran Gasparovic, Crotia, for P/2017 K3; and Cristovao Jacques, Brazil, for C/2017 K6. One Edgar Wilson Award was given for 2018 to Joao Barros, Brazil, for C/2018 E2.
