Optical SETI Revisited

This paper was submitted to Nature on October 7, 1990, but rejected by an associate editor.  The submission was based on a "white paper" that was sent out to the SETI community over the previous summer.   A revised version was later submitted to Electronics Letters but withdrawn because of the subject matter not being in the area covered by the journal.   The moral of the story is that if you think you have a good idea but can't get it published in a peer-reviewed journal, don't give up.  Good ideas, like fine wines, take years to mature.
