At 200 PM CST...A low pressure system with an estimated central
pressure of 992 mb or 29.29 inches of mercury continued its trek
across Lake Erie. The low remained occluded and maintained
strength over the last few hours. National Weather Service radars
and surface observations indicated only light snow flurries across
western Indiana and eastern Ohio, with much of the snow ended
across Lower Michigan. Farther east, a broad shield of moderate to
heavy rainfall covered much of New York, Pennsylvania, and New
Jersey with lighter rain started across western New England. Small
areas at highest elevations across the Green and White Mountain
ranges may have started to transition to snow.

The low pressure system is forecast to continue moving
east-northeast across the lower Great Lakes today while gradually
weakening and transferring toward a developing low in the
Mid-Atlantic this evening and into southern New England by early
Tuesday. Weak snow flurries are expected to trek across the Upper
Ohio River Valley with little significant accumulation however, as
the low passes westerly flow across Lake Erie and Ontario will
support increasing Lake Effect snow squalls. The Lake Erie band
will become more prolific from tonight into Thursday with 10 to 15
inches possible across far northeast Ohio into far western New
York with localized totals to 20 inches in northwest Pennsylvania.
The Lake Ontario plume is expected to produce 4 to 6 inches
through Thursday possibly up to 8 inches in Tug Hill vicinity.
Farther east, as the new surface low develops Monday night into
Tuesday, there is a solid chance of moderate to heavy snow across
northern New England on Tuesday with 6 to 12 inches with possible
15 inches or higher locally in highest elevations of Maine.
The next storm summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 900 PM CST. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
