Heavy rain and snowfall will continue moving north to south near
the Northern Continental Divide tonight, leading to elevation
snowfall totals of 1-2 feet in the Northern Rockies through
Thursday morning. A combination of heavy snowfall combined with
the strong gradient winds will maintain blizzard conditions in the
Little Belt Mountains of Montana through late Wednesday. In lower
elevation areas of the Northern Rockies, the local offices are
forecasting an additional 1.5-2 inches of rainfall. A area of high
pressure looks to move into the Northern Rockies Thursday and
bring clearing conditions.
The next Storm Summary will be issued by the Weather Prediction
Center at 1100 PM EDT. Please refer to your local National Weather
Service office for additional information on this event.
