...Heavy rain continues to impact the Mid-Atlantic as Debby slowly
moves northward...
Tornado Watches are in effect for portions of southeastern
Virginia, northeastern North Carolina, and Maryland.
In addition, Flash Flood Watches are in effect for portions of
South Carolina northwards to New England.
Flood Warnings are in effect for portions of southeastern Georgia,
southeastern South Carolina, eastern North Carolina, southern
Virginia, southern Pennslyvannia, Maryland, Deleware, and New
Jersey

At 1000 PM EDT...Tropical Depression Debby is slowly starting to
pick up speed as it moves north,northwestward. However, a
prolonged period of heavy rain for interior North Carolina and
southern Virginia remains and will expand northward tonight into
tomorrow for the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. National Weather
Service Doppler radar indicated heavy rain focusing over the most
of western, northern North Carolina and south-central Virginia,
while moderate to locally heavy rain bands were located over South
Carolina. Additionally, moderate rainfall is occurring over
northern Virginia and Maryland. In addition to heavy rain, Debby
was producing gusty winds along the southern Mid-Atlantic Coast.
