At 800 AM CST...The deep low pressure system responsible for the
latest winter storm across the Midwest to the Great Lakes
continued to track into eastern Canada/Canadian Maritimes this
morning. While snow has ended for a majority of the region the
surge of arctic air firmly in place across the Great Lakes has
allowed lake-effect snow to continue across portions of Michigan
and upstate New York downwind from Lake Erie and Lake Ontario
under strong west-southwesterly winds.

As the deep low pressure system continues to move farther away
into the Canadian Maritimes and Atlantic Ocean, the lake-effect
snow is expected to gradually taper to lighter snow showers before
dissipating. Any additional snow accumulation is expected to be
light. Winds are expected to be not as strong today however
bitterly cold sub-zero wind chill temperatures are forecast to
remain in place through the next few days.
This will be the last Storm Summary issued by the Weather
Prediction Center for this event. Please refer to your local
National Weather service office for additional information.
